Risks and Complications

The Doublo procedure is safe and rarely associated with any significant side effects. However a few reported side‐effects include:

Skin redness just after the treatment (typically lasting for a few hours post‐procedure).
Mild bruising and swelling may appear for several days’ post-procedure.
The skin may feel slightly numb for a limited time (days to weeks).
A tingling sensation may be experienced for a few days.

How does it work?

HIFU delivers a low amount of focused ultrasound energy into the skin. The heat from the ultrasound creates a very focused area of thermal injury that stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastic fibers, which lifts and tightens the skin. It treats not just the skin, but its underlying support, from the inside out. Because strong energy is delivered deeply into skin without affecting the epidermis, the treatment is safe.
